Immagrant's Son

My father came to this country seeking a better life
All he found was a country full of hatred and strife
The roads that were paved with silver and gold
Have now become cracked, dark and cold
Society is out for number one and all else is no matter
The once hopeful budding country is making us look sadder
The world views the once great USA as a sad joke
The pollution we give off is make us all choke
Smog fills our streets and the lungs of our children
Asthma is caused by this, affecting them as young as ten
Is it safe to walk the streets at night?
Do you have you two options, fight or flight?
When you look in to the pond do you like what you see?
If this country does not change, it will not be for me
Growing up in a world that does not care about others
A message to all young girls; Are you sure you want to be mothers?
Is it too late for change? Have we reached the point of no return?
The hands of time are slowing down and soon will not turn
Fix the future while we still have one to live for
I can't stand to watch the sadness in society anymore
